ILOILO CITY – Some P244-million worth of additional infrastructure projects are definitely going to be implemented here courtesy once more of Ilonggo Senator Franklin Drilon, according to Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog.
Mabilog said these are the latest developments coming from the senator which he announced during the Iloilo River Development Council meeting over the weekend.
Through Drilon, a P145-million three-storey terminal building will rise at the property of Philippine Ports Authority in Muelle Loney, City Proper, replacing the current terminal going to Bacolod City .
He is also instrumental in funding the new equipment for water quality monitoring of the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources worth P40-million.
This can be used for water analysis and sampling of Iloilo River , the mayor said.
The chief executive said Drilon committed to give the city one dredger costing P50-million through the Department of Public Works and Highways next year.
Another P9-million is allocated by the senator for the rehabilitation of Loboc and Baldoza roads in La Paz district.
Mabilog said the Ilonggos has so much to thank the senator for, who has so far given millions worth of projects for Iloilo City .
