ILOILO CITY (PNA) -– Ten manning agencies are participating in the jobs fair as part of the Maritime Week celebration that kicked off Monday at Robinson’s Mall in Iloilo City.
Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) Regional Director Mary Ann Armi Z. Arcilla, who formally opened the jobs fair and photo exhibit with Marina Domestic Shipping Office Dir. Arhleen Romero, Philippine Coast Guard Commodore Athelo Ybanez, Philippine Ports Authority Manager Winfred Elizalde, and Women in Maritime Philippines-Western Visayas President Dr. Ma. Teresa Sarabia, said that the jobs fair is being held in order to provide opportunities for graduates of maritime schools.
Arcilla said that these manning agencies are duly registered with the Department of Labor and Employment and are offering different kinds of employment to the applicants.
She said that interested applicants could go to Robinson’s Mall to inquire about the job placements until Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 19 agencies have set up their photo exhibits on the same area at Robinson’s Mall. The three national agencies that have joined the photo exhibit are the Marina, Philippine Port Authority, and the Philippine Coast Guard.
Other participants of the photo exhibit are the maritime schools, manning agencies, and the medical clinics.The photo exhibit will run until Sept. 30. (PNA)
